On January 13th, 62 seventh grade students from the Avon Middle High School came to Northeastern University for a field trip on energy and engineering. The students split up into two main groups. One group did the Solar Energy activity, lead by the Northeastern volunteer Julian. At the same time the other group worked on the Wind Turbines activity where the students designed and tested their own turbine fins. After both groups had completed their activities they swapped tasks.
In the afternoon students were able to ask a panel of Northeastern volunteers questions about their college experiences in College 101. Then the volunteers lead the students on a tour of the Northeastern campus.
