Field Trip – Brooke Roslindale Charter School

On December 2nd, fifth grade students from the Brooke Roslindale Charter School came for a field trip on telecommunications. In the morning, students learned about the history of telecommunications, then took turns either learning more about phone lines / building a 3D network and using snap circuits to learn about and send morse code.

After lunch, ECE professor Kaushik Chowdhury, with the help of his graduate, PhD, and postdoc students, had the students take turns either going on a wireless network-based egg hunt [which also doubled up as a campus tour] and visiting his lab to talk to his researchers and see what they are working on.
