In addition, you will find a Northeastern connection – something Northeastern is doing related to that field. This week’s topic: Mechanical Engineering. Resource Highlight

  • Crash Course Engineering : Crash Course Engineering Crash Course (YouTube) - Wikipedia
    Crash Course is a great way to get introduced to the fields of Engineering, more specifically Mechanical Engineering. In this video, they discuss the origin of mechanical engineering and how it’s progressed over the years. It also highlights the these inventions and how these inventions has benefitted society. The video also delves further into aerospace engineering, robotics, and biomechanics.
  • Science Buddies Science Buddies - YouTube
    Science Buddies is a database filled with STEM Activities. Organizing by categories, they have a large selection of projects that are great for science fairs. They also include quite a few mechanical engineering related projects, such as building a toy car.

Web Resources for K-12 Students and Parents

In addition to the resource highlight above, which is tied directly to the Newsletter topic, we will also highlight two new web resources each week.

  • Robotics Alliance Project Robotics Alliance Project
    The Robotics Alliance Project is a NASA lead project to promote and encourage younger students’ interest in engineering, technology, science and math. Their goal to nurture a generation of younger students that would impact the future of aerospace. They host annual activities and events to promote these topics, which further encourage this exploration.
  • STEMconnector
    STEM connector is a great site to network and discover others in the STEM field. They promote collaboration between STEM leadership and encourage the growth of the STEM workforce.
