BPS STEM College and Career Fair (10.22.2022)

On Saturday, October 22nd, I (Nick) went as a representative for Northeastern’s Center for STEM Education to the BPS STEM College and Career Fair (10-1). The fair was open to Boston Public School (BPS) students of all ages – one section of the Reggie Lewis Center dedicated to Employers/Career Agencies/Universities and another section (where I was) for STEM Activities. Northeastern had a table in the university section and had three organizations at the STEM Fair: NUCLEUS, STEMout, and us (Center for STEM Education).

At my table we did an engineering activity – paper towers. There were three options – tallest tower, strongest tower, and hurricane-resistant tower. Each attendee was given index cards, playing cards, or printer paper and a bit of tape to build these towers. In addition – flyers were given out for three upcoming events for high school students:
