On Thursday, July 11th, students in REU POWER, D3 REU, and the Young Scholars Program attended a field trip in New Bedford, MA. The day was filled with fun which included a tour of the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal and ended with a boat ride and ice cream.
Students learned about exciting offshore wind projects as well as opportunities to start getting involved. During the visit, students saw wind turbine parts being delivered to the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal which was exciting. REU POWER & REU D3 students did a small scale wind turbine exercise in the first week of the program.
