Expos & Fairs
The Center for STEM Education participates in a variety of STEM hands-on expos and fairs each year. These events involve shorter activities (typically 5-10 minutes) than our usual events (in which activities typically last 60-90 minutes). Sometimes we attend external events and sometimes we host events at Northeastern. See below for a list of expos we are involved in.
Events at Northeastern:
Engineering for Everyone Expo [2.23.2024]: the Friday during February BPS Vacation Week (National Engineer’s Week) we invite K-8 students and parents to come to campus for 2 hours of hands-on STEM learning activities.
BPS STEAM Summit [3.6.2024]: starting in 2024, Northeastern will be hosting the BPS STEAM Summit, a day for Boston Public School high school students to learn more about STEM by participating in classes taught by Northeastern Faculty/students and other organizations.
External Events
BPS STEM Fair – Activity Expo [first Saturday in March]: for 10+ years this event has taken place at Northeastern University. In 2024 the event moved to Roxbury Community College. However, the Center for STEM Education still organizes the activity expo as part of this Fair. We invite all sorts of STEM companies, organizations, and university student groups to showcase their STEM learning activities.
