Apply for the UPLIFT Program
Eligibility:
• Students must be NEU engineering (COE) students
• Students do not need to be first-year students, but this must be your first time doing research at NEU (therefore: transfer students and students who spent their first year abroad ARE eligible)
• Only students who have attended (virtual, in-person, or asynch) UPLIFT seminars in the Fall are eligible to apply
• Must complete seminar attendance survey for each attended seminar
• Students at other campuses are eligible to apply, as we will have research placements at other campuses and virtually
Application Process:
• Attend at least 4 UPLIFT seminars (in-person, virtual, or asynch)
• Complete Seminar Attendance Survey at minimum 4 times
• Complete online application survey by deadline: Applications are closed.
• One short-answer question: why do you feel undergraduate research would benefit you? [200 words]
• Application close on the last day of Fall classes
• Once accepted, we will connect you with faculty in late December/early January
Research Experience for Undergraduates [REUs]:
REUs are a chance for undergraduate college students to conduct research at colleges around the country in the summer. UPLIFT scholars are strongly encouraged to apply for REUs. Research and information regarding REUs can be found on our REU page here. Do note that applications for summer REUs usually close between January-March.
