  • The Bridge Designer The Bridge Designer
    Bridge Designer is a powerful software that allows students to be creative and experiment with a variety of bridge designs. They also provide possible real life civil engineering challenges in which the bridges the student design have to withstand.
  • Civil Engineering Today
    Civil Engineering Today is a series on Youtube by Reed Brockman, a civil engineer working for the Boston Society of Civil Engineers. In these videos, they analyze an existing structure and discusses the civil engineering and the history behind them.

Web Resources for K-12 Students and Parents

In addition to the resource highlight above, which is tied directly to the Newsletter topic, we will also highlight two new web resources each week.

  • HowToSmile  Image result for howtosmile logo
    HowToSmile offers thousands of STEM activities online that are handpicked by science museums, public television stations, universities, and other educational organizations. Activities can be filters by age, material costs, and learning time to help find an activity better suited for you. All activities are free of charge to access.
  • EGFI: Engineering Go For It Image result for egfi logo
    Engineering Go For It is a great resources for future engineers looking to learn more about engineering careers, how to pursue them and meet other engineers. There are also lesson plans, hands on activates, and professional development opportunities for teachers as well.
