On January 20th, 57 eighth grade students from Lawrence Family Development Charter School came to Northeastern University for a field trip on pollution and energy. The students did the Who Polluted and Water Filters activity. The students learned about the sources of pollution and contamination issues by looking at the history of the Charles river. The students then developed water filters that were tested with “polluted water” samples.

In the afternoon the students did the Wind Turbines activity. The students designed and cut out their own turbine fins that were then tested. Then the students went on a tour lead by volunteers around the Northeastern campus.
