Joylynn Awurama Biney

Ama was a Chemical Engineering major (Class of 2026) at Northeastern University and graduated in Spring 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. She worked with the Center for STEM Education, where she became involved through the Uplift Scholars Program and mentorship from Dr. Love.

Through Uplift Scholars, Ama conducted research with Professor Richard West, focusing on computational modeling in chemical engineering, and with Professor Rebecca Willits in a tissue engineering laboratory. She also participated in a Dialogue of Civilizations program to Ghana, where she explored healthcare systems, services, education, and training in West Africa.

Outside of academics, Ama enjoys going on walks, watching sunsets, exploring TV shows, and photography.
