SPARK: UP’s Day of STEM Exploration

On Friday, October 25th, staff and undergraduate volunteers from the Michael B. Silevitch and Claire J. Duggan Center for STEM Education had the opportunity to participate in this year’s SPARK: UP’s Day of STEM Exploration.

This event, organized by the UP Education Network, seeks to “bring hands-on immersive STEM experiences to [their] students to spark joy, excitement and wonder for STEM learning and career pathways.” More information about the event can be found here.

The Center for STEM Education led two interactive sessions for 7th and 8th grade students which engaged with how and what pollutants end up in the Charles River and how water filters could be utilized to remove such pollutants. More information about these activities can be found on our website here.

We are grateful to have been included in this inspiring event for its’ second year!
