Tuesday July 11th – The Young Scholars Program hosted by the Center for STEM Education has just started its third week. There are twenty high-achieving rising seniors in high school participating in research in ten different engineering or pharmaceutical labs across campus. They are working diligently on their research projects and have participated in activities and seminars regarding engineering leadership as well as art and design applied to engineering and the sciences. Each morning they attend our one hour homeroom sessions to check in on their progress in their labs and various speakers have presented on topics such as STEM Career paths, Financial Aid and College Essays. At the end of the six week program, the participants will be showing their final posters and presentations on Thursday August 1st to faculty and their family and friends.
