Happy Monday! New Resources for the Week

We hope everyone had a nice weekend! We are now in week 6 of stay-at-home order and schools are closed for the remainder of the academic year. Weather forecast for Boston area this week is lousy, but warm weather is coming! Stay safe, stay sane, and have a lovely week! -Nick

As we did last week, here’s two more resource highlights that were sent to us over the weekend, both of which are excellent!

Reminder – if you have a moment, please try out the do now and/or activity from this week’s newsletter and please send us ([email protected]) pictures!

Resource Highlights:

  1. BoStem: Virtual Conversations
BoSTEM is a city-wide initiative aimed at increasing afterschool STEM programming for 6-8 graders in Boston who are typically underrepresented in STEM learning and careers. BoSTEM is currently coordinating virtual conversations with local STEM professionals during BPS’ school closure (due to Covid 19 pandemic). These virtual conversations will be open to all and will have a loose structure where the professionals will give an overview of their company, what they actually do, talk about their career pathway, and then open up to questions from students. Sessions will also be recorded and made available for later viewing.
  2. Science News for Students
Science News is a non-profit, independent journal that is devoted to short articles about new scientific and technical developments, gathered from recent scientific and technical journals. Science News for Students is designed specifically with students in mind and provides a well designed, student friendly platform for reading articles revolving around current science events.
