Field Trip – Samuel Adams Elementary (9-29-17)

On September 29th, 40 of fifth graders from Samuel Adams Elementary came to Northeastern University for a field trip on engineering. The students were taught about the basics of rocketry and model rockets as Northeastern Students Sakura and Brian presented Paper Rockets. The students then designed and built their own paper rockets which were then test launched outside. Then students were able to ask Northeastern volunteers about their college experiences in College 101.

In the afternoon students built their own shock absorbing contraptions for an Egg Drop. A group of volunteers were also challenged to develop an egg dropper out of only tooth picks and tape. After the egg drop, students were guided by volunteers on a tour of Northeastern’s campus.
