BPS Science Fair – Volunteer Portal
The Boston Public Schools (BPS) Science and Engineering Fair event will bring together over 200 Boston middle and high school students to engage in active learning and present a wide range of demonstrations and experiments – on topics including the environment, biology, health, chemistry, physics and mathematics – to an anticipated crowd of family members, friends, and Northeastern and its surrounding community members. Last year’s Fair was a resounding success with several winners moving on to other scientific competitions.
The Center for STEM Education is coordinating Northeastern’s role in this event and is in need of volunteers to assist with registration, logistics and otherwise assisting in this virtual event. Please be aware – you must be a Northeastern student to volunteer for this event! Unfortunately, we do not accept volunteers from outside of our university (due to university policy of working with minors).
We are looking for volunteers for the 2023 science fair! If interested (NEU students only), sign up here. If you have completed your undergraduate degree already, consider judging instead.
We thank you for considering volunteering for this worthwhile and fun event. If you have any questions please call 617.373.8380 or email Nicolas Fuchs at [email protected].
Required Forms: To volunteer for this event, you must complete the Self-Disclosure Form (for Programs Involving Minors) and 51A Mandated Reporter Training. These forms are valid for one year – if you have not already completed them as part of Center for STEM Education volunteering, you must complete them prior to attending and either send a scanned copy to Mary Howley ([email protected]) or drop it off at our office (009 Dana Hall, M-F 8am-5pm).
