Research Experience for Teachers (RET)

The Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) program at Northeastern University is a six-week summer research experience for middle and high school mathematics and science teachers and Community College STEM faculty. Participants work in research laboratories affiliated with the Colleges of Sciences and Engineering. Supporting professional development is led by program alumni and partner faculty affiliated with the Center for STEM Education. Teachers then develop a lesson whose topic is based on the research they committed. Previous year’s lesson plans can be found here.

The program runs from Late June – Early August (concurrent with the Young Scholars Program).
