On December 8th, 29 fourth and fifth graders from Henry Grew Elementary School came to Northeastern University for a field trip on engineering. The students built paper rockets with fins of their own design. The students brought their rockets outside in order to test the maximum height and distances that their creations would travel.
The students then did an egg drop in the afternoon. This required the students to design a device and then create it using a limited amount of supplies “purchased” with an imaginary budget from a “shop” run by undergraduate volunteers.
