Welcome to Week 13!
In our newsletter you will be introduced to a STEM topic and find a related-activity to work on during the week (please share your results with us!), as well as extensions to additional learning or games related to the field. In addition, you will find a Northeastern connection – something Northeastern is doing related to that field. This week’s topic: Mathematics. For a list of prior blog posts, see the blog index.
- Mr. Nussbaum’s Math Collection
This web page has a huge collection of free math activities, as well as math games. Additionally, also has activities for language arts, geography, science, etc.
- Cool Math Games
Cool Math Games is an online web portal for free browser games, hosting a huge collection of games that the site claims as non-violent and educational. Lots of choices and well-organized. Also consider visiting Cool Math’s collection of Math Lessons.
Web Resources for K-12 Students and Parents
In addition to the resource highlight above, which is tied directly to the Newsletter topic, we will also highlight two new web resources each week.
Now that the summer has really begun, here are two websites focused on summer camps and programs, most of which are online.
- Boston Neighborhood News Network
BNNN is “committed to sharing content produced by and for Bostonians to educate, inform and enrich their lives. Here you will find some shows produced for our channels and streamed live on our website. Check out the TV Guide for scheduling information.”
