After a few weeks of silence on our end, as we prepare for our virtual programming this semester (Virtual Field Trips, Alumni Afterschool Program, and Pathways to Science/Engineering), we are back with a new newsletter! Resource Highlight
- Psychology @ Northeastern
Psychology is a department in the College of Science at Northeastern, which students can pursue as a minor, a major, a graduate program and as a PhD, as well as participating in a variety of research fields. Additionally, Northeastern offers a variety of Applied Psychology Programs through the Bouvé College of Health Sciences. - Psychology Today
News website focused specifically on Pyschology, updated with new posts daily, as well as publishing a psychology focused magazine every two months. The website also has a vast collection of help pages and a comprehensive search tool for therapists.
Web Resources for K-12 Students and Parents
In addition to the resource highlight above, which is tied directly to the Newsletter topic, we will also highlight two new web resources each week. For this week, we are sharing two STEM events you can attend this Fall:
- Pathways to Science and Engineering
One of our own, new programs which started last Tuesday. Weekly research presentations by faculty and graduate students on a variety of science and engineering topics. Free and open to anyone in high school. Tuesdays 4:00pm to 5:00pm. - SWE @ BPL: Literature Event
Virtual event hosted by Northeastern’s Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers in partnership with the Boston Children’s Library. The event, on Wedn Oct 21, for kids and families age 5-12 is focused on Earthquakes and is free to attend.
